Hermés

I love my Hermés scarf. A lovely girlfriend gave this to me on my 40th birthday. I loved it then and still love it, sometimes it lives in my wardrobe for a few months without seeing the light of day, other times it goes out everyday.

The title of the scarf "Daimyo, Princes of the Rising Sun" is a gracious name that sets the tone for the entire feel of the scarf: swords, their symbols, are skillfully depicted with various insignia of the powerful lord clans. In the centre, the gingko leaves (from the ubiquitous Japanese tree and the symbol of Metropolitan Tokyo) surround two cranes - another symbol of Japan - in a very harmonious circle.
The regal look of this scarf is also impressed by the jacquard silk, the fabric that has a pattern (also of gingko leaves) weaved in it. The scarf is one of the most beloved Hermés productions, a highly collectible scarf and a sought-after design in sale or auction around the world, particularly since the material is no longer utilised by Hermés due to the excessive costs of production.

And I own it! I would like another one please, if someone really, really loves me, would they not give me a lovely new Hermés scarf for me to treasure and love, but best of all to wear?

But first let me tell of a confession. To the right is the most amazing dress by Gucci, I want it, I have been trying to find it but at the price tag attached am glad I did not ever find it. I even wondered about commissioning a seamstress in Hong Kong to make it for me.

However..

I am returning to the UK from Provo Utah and in said town there is a store called Nordstrom. In that store I was persuaded to try on a Nanette Lepore dress and fell totally in love! How does that happen? Someone encourages one to try on a most outrageous dress and it is 'the one' Since starting this 'confession' it appears I do not have one after all. So as we were..


When one looks at the country from above I want so bad to get out and walk where I can see. It makes me wonder if I will ever..

Just viewed dreadful photographs, no, let me re-phrase - the photographs were good, the content was not. Sometimes I should not leave the house, most times I should not leave the house. What on earth do I think I look like? Bad news for those who had to view, sorry everyone, promise to try harder or even better not at all. I should be locked up and the key thrown away perhaps. That way I can do no harm to anyone at all.

Bridals

I had the best day at the weekend, such fun and with people who mean a lot to me. A girly day with an honorary 'girl'. Bridal day, with photographs and video, these now need to be edited, cannot wait to do that.

Just when you think things are fine, someone always comes along to spoil your fun. I do not like people who deceive others, who pretend to be what they are not, just to make others think what you see is real. It is so tempting to say "I know how it is" To reveal their deceit, to let others know that they are also being deceived. Who cares what they do, how, who or where. I certainly do not. Does the camera lie do you think? They say it does not - perhaps, perhaps not, I am not sure or convinced either way. hmmmph

Today I have written the most daring email to date. I sent it, meant it and await to see if I get a reply. Funny thing is, I do not think I will. Will that change anything? Everything? Something? I wish I had a fantastic picture to post along with this but I don't. Have not taken any for a while.

Where does the time go? Even when you have lots, it still manages to slip by, wishing it away is not a good idea - a bad habit that must be lost and banished for ever.

Seduction

I felt so inspired I went to hunt out the sewing machine of my dreams. I found it! I also found a treasure chest of material, I desired it all... the feel, the colours, the seduction of promises. Now I have to work hard to save all my pennies, I want, I want, I want that machine. I could make and create, use it every day, I would look after it, talk to it and be kind to it. Please let me have it!

Did do

So, what did I do today?

I did go for a long run, well it was long and I did run sometimes, other times I power walked
it was hard, I had to push myself. I felt good for doing it
and am looking forward to going again tomorrow
I cleaned the house
changed the beds
washed the laundry
dried, ironed and put it away
watched The Hills! (I know that was not on the list but I could not resist)
took the dogs out
cleaned the geese pen
vacuumed the inside of my car, it was so dusty, muddy and generally disgusting
discovered a very wet patch, water must be coming in through the floor,
a little worrying and I now need to get it looked at,
hmmm Land Rover will charge me an arm and a leg for doing just that
Oh, I plucked my eyebrows and had a general MOT of the body, removal of unwanted hair etc
pulled out a cupboard and threw 20% away, put 40% into the charity bag and put the rest back

I did not complete the list but I think I did enough for a Saturday!

go for a very long run, it has been a while, I feel so unfit and very wobbly!
clean the house

change the beds. Is there nothing nicer than getting into a freshly laundered bed?

One day I will own a Hermes Birken bag, perhaps not this colour not even sure what colour I would prefer. I will call it an investment, the current waiting list is about two years, I had better get saving!
